A GERMAN TWO-HAND SWORD, EARY 17TH CENTURY with straight broad double-edged blade of flattened-diamond section, rectangular ricasso formed with a pair of slender lugs (one restored) and engraved with a wavy line in the centre on each face, iron hilt of flattened bars comprising a pair of slightly drooping quillons with basal lugs, swelling towards the terminal and with a further basal lug (the upper lugs removed), inner and outer ring-guards, decorated throughout with pairs of incised lines, later fluted pommel and the grip with a later spirally-bound covering 115.5 cm; 45 1/2 in blade
