Sino-Tibetan, late 19th century. The gilt bronze buddha figure of Manjushri with finely incised details and a sealed off base. Manjushri sits in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base, raising a flaming sword in his right hand. Manjushri symbolizes transcendent wisdom, embodies the highest knowledge and is considered the patron saint of scholars and students.
Condition: Good condition with abrasions and some verdigris. The sword is slightly dented.
