Rectangular, each side set with gouache miniatures of hunting scenes on copper, by Edmé Charles Lioux de Savignac, one signed, wavy gilt-metal thumbpiece, gilt-metal lining, apparently unmarked; together with a gold-mounted tortoiseshell and horn snuff box, French, late 18th century, circular, the associated lid set with a fixé sous verre miniature, traditionally identified as the Duc de Choiseul's hunt at Chanteloup, by Edmé Charles Lioux de Savignac, signed on the reverse, apparently unmarked
7.2cm., 2⅞in. wide; 8.3cm., 3¼in. wide
Condition Report:
First, rectangular, painted miniatures generally good, the lid miniature has several small areas of paint loss.
Second, circular, miniature good, mount becoming detached from the lid, the lid is horn and a little blanched
