A GILT WOOD SCULPTURE OF AN AMIDA TRIAD, EDO PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY

The central figure of Amida (Amitabha) standing on a lotus stand with robes in gold lacquer, the hands in Amida mudra, inlaid downcast eyes and an urna, accompanied by two attendants on lotus stands, Seishi (Mahesthama prapta) with hands clasped in prayer on the left hand side, and Kannon (Avalokiteshvara) all on an elaborate tiered stand, both with copper bejewelled headdress.
70cm., 27½in. high

Condition Report:
Overall this sculpture is in good condition. The central figure has two fingers with minor repair and a three leaves to the lotus base have been re- applied. There is a small piece missing from under the lotus base but can be easily repaired. There is some very minor lacquer chips to a few lotus leaves on one attendant's stand and minor wear to the lacquer.
