Embellished on the inrobuta (flush-fitting lid) in gold takamaki-e with a flowering stalk of chrysanthemum on a simulated mokume (woodgrain) ground executed in gold togidashi maki-e ground, the sides of the box also lacquered with a mokume design, the interior of rich dense nashiji, unsigned; with a plain wood storage box. 3cm x 12cm (1 3/16in x 4¾in).
