A GRADUATED SET OF THREE GEORGE II SCOTTISH SILVER CASTERS

by James Gilliland, assay master's mark of Hugh Gordon, Edinburgh 1754, of baluster form, crested. (3) Largest 19cm high, 20.8 troy ounces gross

Each is engraved with a crest of a demi-lion rampant, regally crowned, holding in its dexter paw a sword wavy of the last, all with the motto above Pro Rege in Tyrannos. The crest and motto are for MacDonald.

James Gilliland, also known as James Gisland or James Gillieland

Each with a clear set of marks on the underside. Minor surface wear commensurate with age but generally in very good condition.
