A GREEN AND AUBERGINE-DECORATED YELLOW-GROUND DISH, 18TH-19TH CENTURY

The interior of the heavily potted dish is decorated with a green dragon and an aubergine dragon leaping amidst clouds and flames as they contest a flaming pearl below eight flowers including lotus, rose, peony, crab apple, prunus, camellia, chrysanthemum and hollyhock in the rounded well, while a frieze of four dragons in similar pursuit decorates the exterior. An apocryphal Kangxi mark is on the base.

CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- There are two sections have been off and restuck with associated overpainting, one of the two sections was broken into several smaller pieces.
-The rim has been polished.
-There are some small restored rim chips.
-There is wear and abrasion to the surface.
