A GREYISH-WHITE JADE RUYI SCEPTER, MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The handle is carved in relief with lingzhi and bamboo, and the head is carved with a lingzhi group. The stone is of greyish-white color with black markings.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
-The piece has been broken into several sections and restuck with associated losses and other surface cracks.
-There are fissures and inclusions, which are inherent to the material.
-There is a crack and a cutting mark to the ruyi head.
-There are two drilled holes to the end of the scepter.
-"59.19.290" has been inscribed in black ink to the end of the scepter.
