A GROUP OF SIX YIXING PEWTER-ENCASED TEAPOTS, 19TH CENTURY

The group includes two round teapots with ribbed sides, both decorated with poetic inscriptions to one side and incised with flowers to the reverse, with one signed run sheng to one side and stamped to the interior with the maker's mark of Hui Yigong; one teapot of irregular form resembling a leaf, decorated with inscriptions in two different scripts to one side and a flowering branch to the other side, stamped to the interior with a seal; one teapot with a poetic inscription followed by the signature of Wang Qia to one side and an incised pattern of orchids to the other, the interior stamped with the mark of Yang Pengnian; one square-form teapot with a poetic inscription and floral decoration, signed run sheng, stamped to the interior with a shou character; and a hexagonal teapot decorated with poetic inscriptions, dated to the cyclical year of bingshen and signed Yishan, stamped to the interior with the mark of Fan Shuzeng. The spout, handle and cover finial of all teapots are inset with celadon jades.
