all circular, the first of striped buff-coloured lacquer, the lid inset with an oval miniature on ivory of a gentleman wearing uniform, gold mounts, circa 1775/1780; the second of plum-coloured poudre d’écaille, the lid inset with a miniature of a lady on ivory with high-piled hair, gold bead frame, circa 1785; the third of striped green lacquer, the lid later inset with an English enamel plaque painted with Charity, below a banner inscribed: May charity ever distinguish masons’ gold mounts; all with tortoiseshell lining
7.9cm., 3⅛in. diameter; 6.1cm., 2⅜in. diameter; 6.4cm., 2½in. diameter

Condition Report:
The first one with a tiny hole to the gold base rim, several losses to laquer throughout;
the second with light surface cracks to lid and base, miniature in good condition;
the thid with several cracks and losses to laquer, the miniature with slight loss of paint below the upper rim, losses to laquer on lid
