A GROUP OF THREE NEOLITHIC FLINT TOOLS Circa 3rd Millennium B.C. Provenance: Found in Aamsven, The Netherlands in October 1958 by David Bakker; Private collection of David Bakker and thence by descent to his great grandson Ben Edelenbos; Private collection, The Netherlands acquired from Mr Edelenbos in 2012. Footnotes: Though found in Aamsveen in the east of the Netherlands close to the border with Germany, their origins are more likely to have been in Denmark from where many of the finest ancient stone tools hailed. The spread of such finds reveals an active trade in such objects during the Neolithic period.
