Made of black cloth, with badge and fine rank braid embroidered in silver thread on a red ground, the badge featuring the Savoy eagle surmounted by a crown. Chinstrap secured by buttons decorated in low relief with military trophies. Short leather peak. Interior with black leather sweatband and black silk lining bearing the former owner's monogram embroidered in silver bullion. Rare in this condition.
