A George I miniature or toy tankard by David Clayton, London circa 1725 (maker's mark and lion passant only), tapering cylindrical, the domed cover with a trefid thumbpiece, S-scroll handle and moulded rims, engraved AE and GC over JS beneath, 5cm (2in) high, 26g (0.85 oz) This mark was registered in July 1720. He apparently worked solely as a toy maker.
