A George I miniature or toy tankard by David Clayton, London circa 1725 (two maker's marks and lion passant only), tapering cylindrical, the domed cover with a trefid thumbpiece, the S-scroll handle engraved E*C , a simple girdle and moulded rims, 5cm (2in) high, 28g (0.9 oz) This mark was registered in July 1720. He apparently worked solely as a toy maker.
