A George II Silver Coffee-Pot by Fuller White, London, 1741
tapering cylindrical and on a spreading foot, the hinged cover with later part screw finial, the spout casted with foliage and fluted, with later carved-wood handle, engraved with the crest of Walker 23cm high, gross weight 25oz 13dwt, 798gr The crest is probably that of James Walker (1719-1789). Provenance: Property of Lady Walker, Isle of Man.
Marked near handle and underneath with maker's mark. The cover apparently unmarked. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There are some bruises in places, particularly to the foot. The cover perhaps originally had a fixed finial. This has now been replaced with a screw finial which is perhaps missing a wood disc. Rocks when placed on a level surface. A Condition Report is an honest expression of our opinion, not a statement of fact and is provided as a service to the Seller. All lots are available on public view ahead of an auction and we encourage people to see an item in person when possible. Our Condition Reports are not prepared by professional conservators, restorers or engineers, and are prepared with the naked eye unless otherwise stated. Works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. We accept no liability for the opinions expressed in any Condition Report. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
