A George II carved giltwood wall mirror, circa 1750, the rectangular plate within a floral and cartouche moulded frame, 63cm high, 95cm wide

Condition Report:
Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and use. old splits and some small chips of loss as expected for age. Various old wear to gilding. There is apparent dirt tot he surface of the frame including some black spotting. If desired, sympathetic cleaning by a restorer should improve the appearance of this without great expense. The mirror plate is original. The rear panel is a later replacement. The mirror plate is currently secured into position with modern nails. Some depletion to the mirror plate as expected for age (see images) and minor loss to the silvering in areas mainly at the edges. Some later screwed in fixtures to the reverse for hanging. This mirror is a very good, attractive and largely original example of its type. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
