A George II silver two-handled soup tureen and cover, William Cripps, London, 1757
on four claw and bun supports, the otherwise plain compressed circular body engraved on one side with a coat-of-arms within a rococo cartouche below an applied gadroon rim, the similarly engraved cover with cast cauliflower finial above an embossed ovolo band, the underside with scratch weight: '73 – 10 - 0'
