A George II walnut and parcel gilt 'landscape' wall mirror

A George II walnut and parcel gilt 'landscape' wall mirror, circa 1735, the rectangular bevelled plate within a foliate moulded slip, the egg and dart moulded frame with patera roundel moulded outset bottom corners, 50cm high, 126cm wideA similar mirror with "outset corners" is illustrated at page 275, plate 6:15 of Early Georgian Furniture 1715 - 1740 by Adam Bowett. Bowett suggests at date of 1730-1750.Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits and chips. Bevelled plate is later associated. Some rubbing and losses to gilded elements. The gilt slip with some areas of loss to the gesso (see images). Some minor evidence of old worm. Gilding refreshed in areas. Some minor lifting to veneers.Foliate roundel to one side has been detached and glued back in place. Later black paint to sides. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
