A George II walnut and parcel gilt mirror, circa 1740, the rectangular plate within a foliate moulded gilt split, the egg and dart moulded frame with shaped apron, flanked by trailing vines, surmounted overall by a scrolling pediment centred by a Ho-ho bird with wings outstretched, 132cm high, 68cm wide

Provenance: Property from a Distinguished Private Collection

Condition Report:
Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old chips and splits and some areas of lifting but should be easily remedied by careful gluing by a restorer. Mirror plate is original and bears expected depletion in form of some grey and black spotting. (see images). Main catalogue/ website image shows extent. The rear panels are to be original. Some old chips, splits and losses. Wear and some loss to the gilding Gilded surface has been cleaned and likely refreshed atleast in some areas if not all. The walnut veneer has been cleaned and re-polished . The walnut veneer all appears original however. Old screw holes to rear from previous fixtures as expected. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
