A George III Newcastle silver twin-handled loving cup.

A George III Newcastle silver loving cup, with girdle detail, tongue capped scroll handles and raised on a circular spread foot, with later chased and embossed floral and scroll decoration. Hallmarked John Langlands II, Newcastle 1803. Height including handle 5.5" (14cm), weight 10.8 ozt (336 grams).

Condition Report:
- Displaying some surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and general use.
- Some heavier staining and tarnishing visible to the interior.
- Likely engraving removal from the now vacant cartouche. Patches of a darker tone are visible.
- There is a crack around the lower join of one handle, possibly repaired?
- The stem and foot appear a little pushed up on one side so that the cup now has a slight lean to one side.
- Hallmarks located below the rim, rubbed but legible. Maker's mark struck to both handles.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
