A George III Silver Coffee-Pot by John Scofield, London, 1776

pear-shaped and on spreading foot, later chased with foliage scrolls and flowers on a matted ground, each side centring a cartouche, one engraved with a crest, the hinged cover with later dolphin-cast finial, with later leaf-capped and ivory-insulated scroll handle 25.5cm high, gross weight 26oz 9dwt, 823gr With non-transferable standard ivory exemption declaration number YQREKEJV.

Fully marked underneath and further part marked inside cover. The handle and finial are circa 1830 and each is apparently unmarked. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The ivory insulators with some staining and cracking. They show no signs of having been being added after circa 1830 and there is no indication of restoration. We are happy to provide Condition Reports to prospective buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale. We cannot guarantee a reply to any requests made within 48 hours of the start of the auction. The absence of a Condition Report from a lot does not mean that the lot is in perfect condition.
