shaped circular and with a shell-heightened scroll border, later engraved with foliage scrolls and flowers, centring the crest of Walker, the back later engraved with an inscription 31cm diameter, 24oz 7dwt, 758gr The inscription reads ‘A Token of Gratitude to Mr Walker of Sand Hutton from Two Sisters for his Unequalled Kindness to their late Brother Colonel Childers Jan’y 20th 1854'. Provenance: Property of Lady Walker, Isle of Man.

Fully marked underneath. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the engraving and high points. The salver has been erased and is thin and with some bruising to the centre. All lots are available on public view ahead of an auction and we encourage people to see an item in person when possible. Our Condition Reports are not prepared by professional conservators, restorers or engineers, and are prepared with the naked eye unless otherwise stated. Works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. We accept no liability for the opinions expressed in any Condition Report. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
