A George III brass mounted mahogany musical bracket clock, the architectural case with moulded top with brass ball finials above pierced brass sound frieze and two brass Corinthian columns, with pierced brass fretwork side panels, on plinth base and bracket feet, the painted arched dial with Roman numerals, with cherub mask and scrolling foliate spandrels, having strike/silent, pianoforte/bells and tune selection subsidiary dials to dial, signed John Wyatt, ALTRINCHAM to dial centre, the triple fusee movement playing a selection of twelve tunes on fourteen bells and a pinned cylinder, the backplate signed J WYATT, striking on a bell, with pendulum and case key but no winders, approx. 76cm high, 49.5cm wide, 30cm deep Note: John Wyatt is recorded in Baillie, G H 'Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World' as working in Altrincham, Cheshire, circa 1799.
