A George III Chippendale period giltwood mirror, in the manner of the carver and gilder Thomas Johnson (born 1714, died after 1778). Carved throughout with chinoiserie decoration, the cresting with a carved pagoda mounted with housing a seated figure, the frame mounted with openwork intertwined foliate branches further decorated with acanthus leaves, C-scrolls and icicles. England, c. 1760. H. 170 cm. W. 78 cm.
