A George III mahogany and crossbanded bureau, circa 1780, the fall enclosing a fitted interior, 101cm high, 92cm wide, 52cm deepProvenance: Private Collection, The Old Rectory, GloucestershireCondition Report: There are marks, scratches, cracks, knocks and abrasions consistent with age and use.Overall the finish is cleaned.There are some sections of replacement veneers, with some faded patches.The brass escutcheon and handles are later, one of which is partly detached, the pieces are in a drawer.There is a line of marks to the right side and a crack.The interior has a later brown and gilt tooled leather inset, some ink stains to the interior timber, some cracks around the lock area and some later veneers.Knocks and replacements around the base moulding and the feet.
