A George III mahogany longcase clock by James Cowan of Edinburgh, the swan neck pediment with blind fretwork decoration, fluted corinthian columns and the case with quartered fluted pilasters, all on bracket feet, the arching silvered dial with strike/silent lever, roman silvered chapter ring, subsidiary second hand and date aperture, and decorative pierced spandrels, the eight-day movement striking the hours on a bell, 53cm wide x 28cm deep x 226cm high overall
The left hand swan neck element to the pediment with signs of restoration, further minor restoration overall, slight loss to the cornice on the back right edge, the movement in reasonably clean condition and complete with pendulum and weights
