Serpentine rectangular form, profusely chased with floral and foliate decoration in high relief against a matted ground, a cartouche to one side inscribed with crest and motto 'Nec Temere Nec Timide' above, associated with the BUCKLE family, an inset convex lid highly polished to the edges with matching decoration, finished with a sculptural floral finial on a caylx base and gilt interior, sides 12.5cm x 12cm, height 13cm, weight 30.4oz.
