A George III silver entrée dish and cover.

A George III silver entrée dish and cover, of plain rectangular form, the dish with reeded border, the removable domed cover with opposing engraved and embossed scroll, floral and foliate cartouches, with branch moulded and leaf capped loop handle. Hallmarked Thomas Robins, London 1812. Length 11.5" (29.25cm). Weight 46ozt (1431 grams).

Condition Report:
- In tired condition, displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.
- Some areas of tarnishing that would benefit from a clean and polish.
- Loop handle may once have been removable, but is now soldered in place. Handle appears slightly misaligned. Some splits to silver soldering to inside of cover.
- Cover displaying dents to the body, and rim appears misshapen causing it to not sit properly on dish.
- Further heavier scratches and dints to cover, with heavier wear to the corners.
- Cartouche decoration not aligned properly.
- Dish also displaying dents, causing it to sit unsteadily.
- Heavier scratches to interior of dish from use, with some creasing to interior corners.
- Hallmarks and maker's marks heavily worn. Hallmarks to dish and cover, with matching part hallmarks to loop handle.
