A George III silver sauce boat by Peter & Ann Bateman.

A George III silver sauce boat, the typical oval bellied form with applied gadroon rim, acanthus capped flying scroll handle and raised on three scalloped feet with similar shell mounts, with engraved crest to one side depicting a clawed paw raised aloft. Hallmarked Peter & Ann Bateman, London 1799. Height including handle 15.25" (13.3cm), weight 11.39 ozt (354.2 grams).

Condition Report:
- Appears in fairly good overall condition and of good gauge.
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- Surface nicks and heavier scrathces to some areas, especially to interior and base.
- Interior also with very slight inpressions from join of handle and feet.
- Slight knocks around edges of feet and heavier contact wear to undersides, but sauce boat stands firm on feet.
- Residues of a sticker mark to the base.
- Hallmarks located below the spout, these partly rubbed but still legible.
