[ translate ]

A George III silver twin-handled cup, the circular spreading foot rising to an inverted bell-shaped body with later engraved initials dated 1847, with reeded girdle and two S-shaped scroll handles, hallmarked Thomas Wallis I, London 1770, height 5" (13 cm). Together with another example of similar form, with later additional decoration of swags and laurel leaf base, hallmarked London 1776, with maker's mark I.K, possibly John King, and a third example of plain form with circular handles and engraved initials, hallmarked Peter & William Bateman, London 1810. Gross weight 30.4ozt (946 grams). (3).

Condition Report:
- All of the cups are in an average overall condition, displaying surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use.
- The 1770 cup is heavily dented, particularly around the base. The surface feels bumpy and uneven. There are signs of a repair to one of the handles and floods of solder to the underside of the base, also indicating possible repair.
- The decoration on the 1776 cup is not original. The rim of the base has warped and consequently misshapen. The interior surface feels bumpy and uneven.
- The surface of the 1810 cup is thin and displays patchy discolouration. The handles are dented and misshaped.
- All items would benefit from a good clean and polish.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
