A George III sterling silver, agate and tortoiseshell inset snuff box, London 1806 by John Brough (reg. 26 April 1803, used until 17 Oct 1806)
of rectangular form with canted corners, the base inset with tortoiseshell the hinged lid with gently domed coloured banded agate. Gilt interior. Marked to the base flange and lid exterior.
Length – 7.7 cm / 3 inches
Working from 50 Aldersgate Street, registered a joint mark with John Mountford 17 Oct 1806, registered alone again 13 March 1807, working until at least 1823
