the circular specimen marble top centred with a pietre dure scene depicting a butterfly and a bird perched on a fruiting branch on a black marble ground, set with a gilt-metal gadrooned border, on a carved giltwood base formed as three lion heads and paws, with label to the underside 'COOK 228 22.1'
79cm. high, 92cm. diameter; 2ft. 7in., 3ft.¼in.
Condition Report:
In overall good conserved condition. The marble top with minor refilled cracks and some scratches as to be expected given age and use. The gilding to the base with minor losses and scuffs as should be visible in the catalogue images. Evidence of an old woodworm activity which no longer appears to be active. Ready to place.
