A George IV mahogany cellaret, circa 1825, of sarcophagus form, the lid with central gilt metal mount enclosing a lined interior, with flanking mask handles, on lion paw feet, with Tompson patent box-lock, 64cm high, 67cm wide, 47cm deepProvenance: Berwick House, ShropshireCondition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions, consistent with age and use,Some chips and losses, old splits and cracks, an inset section of timber to the rear near the hinge. The lid with crimson leatherette lining, with later webbing connecting it to the base, there are old holes where this has been re-sited. The interior not divided (by design) - there is an old plugged drainage hole to the base Lock and keeper appear to be original, there is no key present, the lock is open at time of report Condition Report Disclaimer
