A George IV mahogany press cupboard

A George IV mahogany press cupboard, circa 1830, the panel doors enclosing three slides, 199cm high, 135cm wide, 61cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old chips and splits. Cornice in need of attention by a restorer. It has broken at two joints and with other opening. Evidence of old worm to cornice. Sections of replacement timber used to edges of the upper section. Sections of replacement stringing to drawer fronts. The drawer fronts are slightly 'sunken in' to the carcass. There is also a vacant lock catch to the top of the lower section. This could suggest that the lower section has been adapted at some point. Satinwood fronted sliding trays to the interior of the upper section are later. Section of moulding to one side of detached but present. Moulding to other side with section lacking.
