A George IV silver three piece tea service, comprising teapot, twin-handled sucrier and cream jug, each of compressed melon shape with a cast rim of water lilies above a chased band to the main body of alternating acanthus leaf and flower motifs with engraved eagle crest to one side, to a conforming water lily footed base, with further foliate detail to handles and spout, gilt-wash interior to sugar and cream and the teapot with flower finial to the domed and hinged lid. Hallmarked Rebecca Emes & Edward Barnard I, London 1827 and 1828. Maximum length of teapot 11.25 (28.5 cm), gross weight 53.73 ozt (1671 grams). Dimensions: Condition Report: Appears in good overall condition. Displaying some heavy tarnishing throughout and some general expected surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with the age and use.A few minor surface dints and bumps.Hinged lid of teapot appears in good working order and closes flush. Handle with ivory insulators, fixing pins are protruding slightly so the handle section has some movement. Some heavy staining to interior of teapot. Gilt interiors to other two pieces with some fading, dirt and staining. Sugar and teapot with slight wobble.Some hallmarks with heavy rubbing but still legible. Teapot with conforming part hallmarks to various parts.
