A George IV silver twin-handled sugar bowl.
A George IV silver sugar bowl of circular bulbous form, with foliate and floral twin handles, the lower body with gadroon decoration, to a short circular base. Hallmarked London 1820, maker's mark partly worn, possibly CF. Height including handles 3.5" (9cm), weight 8.58 ozt (267 grams).
Condition Report:
- The sugar bowl appears with some heavy tarnishing and would benefit from a good clean and polish.
- Also displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.
- There are some fairly large dents to the body.
- The base with some crudely scratch engraved dates, initials and numbers. And scraped or file type marks.
- There are residues of polish in the gadroon details and around the handles.
- Hallmarks rubbed but legible. Maker's mark partly worn, possibly Charles Fox I.
