A Georgian 18ct gold black garnet, split pearl and old-cut diamond mourning ring, with floral shoulders.Estimated diamond weight 0.10ct. Hallmarks for London. Ring size P. 3.5gms.
Condition Report: Some light marks and wear to metal. Ring has been resized, small amount of pitting and irregularity to localised area of band. Some dirt and debris to inside of head and shoulders of ring. Claws with moderate wear.
Engraving to inside of ring head reads 'Rob Randall, Ob 6 May 1834 at 59.'
Hallmarks deficient date letter, presumed ring re-size.
Diamond is fairly bright and lively.
Garnets are a fairly opaque black hue, two with slight red tint.
Garnets with moderate abrasions and wear to facet edges, two with large surface reaching fractures.
Split pearls with a greyish white body colour, with soft silver, green and pink overtones.
Split pearls with moderate to significant wear and crazing to nacre.
