A Georgian Lover

A Georgian Lover's Eye Ring. 14 karat yellow gold mounting contains a round miniature of an eye at center surrounded by eight Old Mine cut diamonds within lozenge form mounts. Perimeter is decorated with cobalt blue enamel. Interior of ring is engraved "Eye Miniature of Sir Edwin Landseer R.A." Size: 5 3/4 Wt: 15.4 grams
Condition Report: The ring is in overall good condition. The circle of blue enamel sustains a chip at the 4:00 position. This chip is approximately 3.5mm in length. The enamel sustains another very small chip at the 11:00 position. This chip is approximately 1mm and not visible to the naked eye. The reverse of the mounting sustains solder marks at the 12:00 and 6:00 positions. The mounting sustains additional solder marks where the shank meets the mounting. The ring sustains an uneven amount of tarnish build up. The diamonds appear to be original to the mounting.
