A German bone-inlaid wheellock pistol, circa 1640
Octagonal to round barrel with smooth bore in 12 mm caliber, with two deep stamp marks at the breech. Smooth wheel-lock with external wheel. Slender full stock with engraved horn nose, inlays of bone and mother-of-pearl depicting dogs and predatory birds between floral ornaments, the ramrod ferrule marked "CWF". Iron trigger guard and pommel reinforcement. Wooden ramrod with engraved bone tip. Length 61 cm. Exceptionally elegant weapon of high quality.
