A German halberd, circa 1590
Long, quadrangular thrusting spike. Boldly curved axe blade with concave edge and pierced roundels, delamination on one side at the base. Curved fluke on the reverse. Angular socket with two long langets, each rivet backed with a brass rosette. Surfaces with rust patina, slightly pitted. Probably original, blackened shaft with rectangular cross-section, partly with heavy signs of use. Length 255 cm.
