A German left tournament gauntlet, circa 1530/40Two metacarpal lames with distinctly ridged knuckle guard. Finger guard sliding on three lames. On the side attached escutcheon sliding on two lames. Slightly ridged cuff forged in one piece and riveted at the bottom with inwardly turned edge. On the inside remnants of the original leather cover. Length 28 cm. Well-preserved heavy gauntlet of an early tournament armour.Condition: II
