A German rapier, ca. 1610
Slender thrusting blade of diamond section. The upper quarter with deep fullers on both sides retaining traces of a struck inscription. Long ricasso with a small brand struck on both sides. Swept shell hilt with S-curved crossguard and a small, inserted side ring on the terce side (replaced?). Two threaded holes on the bottom of the guard. Grip with original iron wire winding and Turk's heads. Slightly conical iron pommel. Surfaces partially stained and with light surface rust, in need of cleaning. Length 121.5 cm.
