Oil on canvas, re-lined. The resting place of a pride of lions by a craggy, multi-tiered rock face. Two sleeping beasts lie next to an antelope skull at the foot of the rock face. A cub plays with an older male lion nearby. A vista of a mountainous landscape with a fortress on the right-hand side. In a dark moulded frame of later date, the corners with decorative tendrils in gold paint. Dimensions 89 x 118 cm, including frame 103 x 127 cm.
