A Gilt Small-Sword with Chiselled Hilt

Triangular thrusting blade, with ornamental gilded etching on a blued background (rusty in several places). The makers signature "De la Manufacture de la Marque au Raisin fait a Solingen" on both sides of the forte. Iron hilt richly chiselled with flowers and rocaille in relief amid musical instruments and martial trophies against a gilded chiseled background. Original silver wire grip winding with Turk's heads. Sharkskin-covered wooden scabbard with two silver suspension fittings, and an iron chape. France circa 1760, length 101 cm. Condition 2
