A Greek silver phiale with lotus decoration, 6th - 5th century B.C.
Offering bowl with central omphalos, strikingly inwardly drawn rim and funnel-shaped, slightly flaring rim with horizontally flared lip. An Ionian cymation on the inwardly drawn rim. Inside the bowl, around the inwardly curved omphalos, a frieze of six lotus blossoms with five lotus leaves in between. Spotted patina with light oxide layers. Diameter 13.8 cm. Height 5.2 cm.
