Later in her career she won acclaim for her sculpture for the Dachau Concentration Camp memorial. After hearing Kate Mosse talking on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour about setting up a Women’s Prize for Fiction, Niven offered a cast of a sculpture of Mosse as a prize. Her younger brother was the actor David Niven.
