A Group of .223 Remington FMJ Rifle Ammunition in a Metal Storage Can

A collection of .223 Remington caliber centerfire rifle cartridges featuring brass casings and full metal jacket (FMJ) bullets. The cartridges are loose-packed within a vintage olive drab metal military-style ammunition can. The headstamps on the cartridges are clearly struck with the characters R-P .223 REM. The storage container is constructed of painted metal with a side-latching lid and a folding top handle. The exterior of the can features yellow stenciled markings including A131 and 200 CARTRIDGES, the latter of which is partially covered by a hand-written paper note reading 500 Rnds .223 FMJ. The top of the lid bears a hand-written adhesive label featuring grid lines and the number 23. The interior of the lid includes a black rubber gasket. The ammunition can measures approximately 11 3/4 inches in length and 7 inches in height.
