A HATCHMENT OF ARMS FOR FLETCHER, 18TH CENTURY

pen, ink and watercolour, inscribed 'The Arms appointing to the ancient names of Fletcher [...] One of this name and family in the Country of Cumberland raised a Regiment of horse and another of foot and maintained them at his own charge for his Majesties [sic] service, King Charles the First' held in a contemporary 'Hogarth' moulded frame
visible sheet: 37.5 by 27cm.; 14¾ by 10¾in.

Condition Report:
Decorative. The paper foxed and heavily stained, particularly to the left proper margin. Probable historic water damage to the sheet at extremities and small tears.
The frame loose and with evidence of old worm. Ingrained dirt to both.
