A hussar's sabre
dating: Second half of the 20th Century provenance: Caucasia, Curved, single-edged blade, with fuller, engraved to effigy a hussar on horseback and motto 'VIVAT HUSSAR', lower 'VIVE LE ROY' and two cross marks. Iron quillon with decoration remains, back engraved with Arabic letters. Leather-coated grip with metallic bands and two rosettes. Cap with nielloed rinceau. Wooden, leather-coated scabbard (defects) with mounts nielloed en suite. length 88,5 cm.
