Note: The first volume, The History of the Fifth Royal Gurkha Rifles, was owned by Colonel William Alexander, former Chindit who served with Gurkha Regiments second, third and fifth. He died in 1943 while serving in Burma. He is mentioned in Bernard Fergusson's book - "Beyond the Chindwin", and the six silvery metal spoons in this lot belonged to Colonel Alexander
